Through the support and partnership with community partners, employers and funders we are able to provide job training, social services, job placement, retention services, and work opportunities to hundreds of thousands of metro Detroiters. Goodwill of Greater Detroit’s work is cemented in its founding belief in helping people, and their families move from poverty and dependence to prosperity and independence.

Mission-Driven Businesses

We are in the business of helping people enrich their lives. Our social enterprise includes three mission-driven operations that fund and strengthen our life-changing programs. Through this model, we serve Detroit and the counties of Livingston, Macomb, Wayne, Oakland, and Washtenaw.

We support individuals facing employment barriers, including:

• Those with intellectual, developmental, or physical disabilities
• Those living with mental health challenges
• Those that are Justice-involved or returning citizens
• Those experiencing chronic unemployment

Goodwill Donated Goods Retail Stores

Goodwill of Greater Detroit is dedicated to helping our communities. Our stores offer a sustainable solution to the environment, reselling gently-used clothing and household items that would otherwise end up in landfills. Proceeds support our mission programs, which help local residents find independence through personal development and a living wage. Ninety-two cents on every dollar spent at our stores supports personal and workforce development programming.

Goodwill’s Green Works

Goodwill’s Green Works recycles waste materials from industrial structures. Using the commodity market, Green Works breaks down scrap material and resells and distributes them for the opportunity at a second life. Green Works provides training and industrial recycling employment opportunities to people who have REAL employment challenges like our returning citizens and chronic unemployed residents. Goodwill Integrated Solutions

Goodwill Integrated Solutions provides packaging, distribution, kitting, light assembly, rework, and audit/inspection services. Goodwill Integrated Solutions is focused on helping individuals with significant employment barriers obtain and retain employment, earn a living wage, and start on a career path with opportunities for advancement.
